To be accepted into the On My Own of Michigan Program, the following criteria must be met by the potential member:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and ambulatory
  • Must meet the financial obligations of the OMOM Program
  • Does not require 24-hour supervision
  • Has a primary diagnosis of a developmental/intellectual disability in the mild or borderline range such as:
    • Borderline Intellectual Functioning
    • Cerebral Palsy
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder
    • Epilepsy
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Downs Syndrome
  • Does not exhibit behaviors that would be a threat to self or others
  • Must demonstrate basic and reasonable socially appropriate and acceptable behaviors
  • Must have or obtain a recent assessment showing an individual’s level of functioning (psychological and/or assessments in high school)
